Mother’s Day Plant Sale at Wistariahurst Museum

Holyoke Arts League Annual Spring Exhibition
During the month of May, the Wistariahurst Museum at 238 Cabot St. in Holyoke will host an exhibition of artwork by members of the Holyoke Arts League (HAL), founded in 1923 and celebrating its 101st year in Holyoke. The League holds artist demonstrations and weekly adult figure drawing sessions.
You are cordially invited to join them at their opening reception on Saturday, May 4th, from 2-4pm. This event is complimentary and welcomes all.
Throughout May, the exhibition will be accessible during the museum's usual operating hours on Mondays (10am-2pm) and Tuesdays (4:30pm-6:30pm) until May 28th. The juried exhibition will showcase diverse entries such as oil and pastel, watercolor, acrylic, tempera, gouache, non-oil wet media, graphite, charcoal, printmaking, graphic media, sculpture, and ceramics.

Mindfulness at the Museum: A SonorousLight Sound Bath
Join Wistariahurst Museum as they present Mindfulness at the Museum: A SonorousLight™ Sound Bath. This immersive experience is meant to heal and melt away all stress and tension as a cocoon of sound surrounds guests. Unwind and relax as the soothing vibrations of crystal and Himalayan singing bowls, gongs, and other instruments wash over you. These tranquil sessions are led by the amazingly serene Donnabelle Casis, who uses her training with KIN Unified Health Institute in Sound Therapy to help others use sound to help promote physical health and emotional well-being.
Mindfulness at the Museum will be held every fourth Wednesday of the month from 6:30 pm-7:30 pm. For a one-hour sound bath meditation, bring comfortable clothing, a yoga mat, blankets, a pillow, an eye mask (optional), and a water bottle.
Doors open at 6:00 pm, with doors closing at 6:25 pm and the session starts promptly at 6:30 pm.
Space is limited and reservations are required to attend this event. Don’t miss this chance to relax and unwind through the healing power of sound inside Wistariahurst Museum.

Sensory Friendly Egg Hunt at Wistariahurst Museum
Join Wistariahurst Museum and hop in for a sensory-friendly egg hunt that focuses on gentle exploration and enjoyment! Designed for families with sensory sensitivities, this egg-ceptional event is tailored so that every bunny feels comfortable and welcome!
Weather permitting, our egg-stravaganza will take place in our gardens, but will be relocated indoors in the event of inclement weather. Each child will have the opportunity to gather six eggs and choose from a selection of prizes that range from candy to fidget toys.
This event is the first of its kind at Wistariahurst, and staff members are ready to crack open the fun! Families can sign up for ten minute time slots between 10:00am and 11:30 am and will be limited to two at a time. The egg hunt will continue until 12:00 pm to allow children to explore at their own pace and enjoy a stress free experience! Stay and search as long as you want, time slots are only meant to ensure a calm and seemless check-in process.
If families would like to explore the museum and/or gardens ahead of the event, we have open hours on Mondays from 10am-2pm and Tuesdays from 4:30pm-6:30pm and our gardens are open every day from dawn until dusk. We hope to see all of our peeps at this egg-stra special event!
Únase al Museo Wistariahurst y participe en una cacería de huevos sensorialmente adaptada que se centra en la exploración y el disfrute suaves. Diseñado para familias con sensibilidad sensorial, este excepcional evento está pensado para que todos los conejitos se sientan cómodos y bienvenidos.
Si el tiempo lo permite, nuestra cacería de huevos tendrá lugar en nuestros jardines, pero se trasladará al interior en caso de inclemencias meteorológicas. Cada niño tendrá la oportunidad de recoger seis huevos y elegir entre una selección de premios que van desde caramelos a juguetes.
Este acontecimiento es el primero de este tipo que se celebra en Wistariahurst, y los miembros del personal están listos para dar rienda suelta a la diversión. Las familias pueden inscribirse en franjas horarias de diez minutos entre las 10.00 y las 11.30 horas, con un máximo de dos cada vez. La búsqueda del huevo continuará hasta las 12:00 h para que los niños puedan explorar a su propio ritmo y disfrutar de una experiencia sin estrés. Quédese y busque todo el tiempo que quiera, las franjas horarias sólo sirven para garantizar un proceso de facturación tranquilo y sin incidentes.
Si las familias desean explorar el museo y/o los jardines antes del evento, tenemos horario de apertura los lunes de 10:00 a 14:00 y los martes de 16:30 a 18:30, y nuestros jardines están abiertos todos los días desde el amanecer hasta el anochecer. Esperamos ver a todos nuestros amigos en este evento tan especial.

Nature / Nurture Art Exhibit at Wistariahurst Museum
Wistariahurst Museum is excited to welcome back their Women's History Month juried art show, with this years theme being Nature/Nurture. Female and nonbinary artists explore the theme of nature versus nurture, showcasing different perspectives on how genes and environment influence mental and physical well-being. Some artworks focus on genetics, while others emphasize the role of upbringing and life experiences in shaping one's identity.
The jury selected five artists to showcase for the Nature/Nurture art exhibit: Anne Bradford Spencer, Deborah Yaffe, Shelsy Rodiguez, Camille Roos, and River Nation, with other amazing artists as honorable mentions.
There will be an artist talk and opening reception on March 12th, 2024, from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm, including an artist panel discussion at 5:30 pm. During the opening reception, get a first look at the exhibit and speak with some of the artists who helped shape this year's theme with their artwork. We will be joined by some of our featured as we feature them on our artist panel to talk about what inspired their art, their experiences, and what their thoughts on this year's theme
The exhibit is open on Mondays from 10 am to 2 pm and Tuesdays from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm from March 12th until April 16th.
