Queer Joy Collaborative is launching Affirming Voices, a gender-affirming voice training program for trans, nonbinary, and gender-expansive people who want to explore and embody their authentic voice—whether speaking, singing, or both.
Affirming Voices honors the voice as a deeply personal and powerful part of identity. Participants gather in community to explore voice in a space designed for curiosity, affirmation, and mutual support. By learning together, participants can witness and encourage each other through both the social and physical aspects of voice exploration, building confidence and self-trust along the way.
The program is led by Jackie Baron, a Speech-Language Pathologist, and Mara Levi, a Voice Teacher, who bring complementary expertise to the work. Their approach combines evidence-based, trauma-informed vocal care with affirming, identity-centered instruction. Together, they focus on sustainable techniques that prioritize vocal health, personal agency, and experimentation, allowing participants to move at their own pace.
Cost: Sliding scale, $10–$50 per session
