A Summer Return

Our Summer break is over, and we are thrilled to announce that Bloom Local is back in action!

As you may recall, in the Spring, we announced the bittersweet decision to close our beloved meeting space in downtown Northampton. Financial and physical realities necessitated this step, and we also recognized the importance of taking some time to reflect on the roots of this project. We wanted to ensure that these roots remained strong enough to continue supporting our amazing community. While not an easy decision, this pause has allowed us rest and to envision Bloom Local’s next phase of growth.

On June 30th, the Bloomery Art Gallery & Meeting Place closed its doors after hosting our final exhibition, "The Dreamweavers" by Lachlan Thompson. This powerful exhibition delved into survivor stories, told through the lens of the Tarot's Major Arcana. Over the course of June, we held two openings, warmly welcoming more than 30 visitors to experience the profound artwork. Attendees also had the chance to engage in self-discovery through tarot readings and art-making activities. The connections made and healing experienced during these events were truly special. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who joined us or considered attending.

For those who missed the exhibition or wish to revisit its splendor, the original works from "The Dreamweavers" are now available for viewing in an online exhibition. Simply click/tap here to view.

As we return from our summer break, we are eager to invite you to our next event in collaboration with Transhealth: Join us for Yoga with Sebastian at 10 am on Saturday, August 12th, at Peskeomskut Park in Great Falls. Bring your mat or a blanket, a friend, and a donation to join in an all-levels outdoor yoga class. This event is made possible by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, the Montague Cultural Council, RiverCulture, and Franklin County Pride, and we're extending big thanks to these local supporters!

In the coming weeks, stay tuned for more updates as we establish a new pace. You'll find us reactivating our Instagram page this week and the next, so be sure to follow us for the latest news and inspiration.

Wishing you a restful rest of Summer, and we hope to see you in person and online as we grow and bloom again!
